Our Team

Thomas W. Cramer is a licensed landscape architect with the State of New York and holds degrees in landscape architecture and environmental science, as well as one in forestry from the SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry and Syracuse University.  He also has an associate’s in business management & graduate work in political science and planning. 

He started working in the environmental and planning field in the mid 1970s holding various positions with the Town of Brookhaven including the Director of Environmental Protection and culminating with the position of Commissioner of Planning, Environment & Economic Development.  In the private sector he was a principal of Cramer Voorhis & Associates and most recently the principal of Cramer Consulting Group.  Through his professional career he has authored numerous studies and documents including, but not limited to, environmental impact statements, and major land use plans and ordinances for various municipalities and private clients.  He has sat on numerous boards and technical advisory councils including the Pine Barrens, Suffolk County Council of Environmental Quality, and 208 Groundwater Management Plan, as well as planning and land use boards.  He has been a guest speaker and lecturer at several universities and colleges and has run work shops for the New York State Department of State.  From a legal aspect he is recognized as an expert and has been qualified as such in federal, state and local courts on issues such as land use, the environment, the State Environmental Quality and Review Act (SEQRA), and the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP).  He has also worked extensively with the New York State Attorney General;s office on various legal matters.  

 

Eileen Rowan has been a part of the team of Cramer Consulting Group as an expeditor for 11 years.  Eileen received a degree in Fisheries and Wildlife from SUNY Cobleskill and was subsequently employed by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation in the Bureau of Tidal Wetlands.  To further her education, Eileen then obtained a Paralegal Certificate from Long Island University at C.W. Post and worked in the law field handling real estate transactions.  Since she joined Cramer Consulting Group, Eileen has become an integral and valued member of this firm.

Jennifer Leeds joined Cramer Consulting Group as an expeditor in 2009.  Prior to joining our company, Jennifer worked in the health care industry which is where she developed her attention to detail and ability to address issues in a very personal manner.  While her project experience at Cramer Consulting Group is well rounded, Jennifer almost solely handles this firm’s Fire Island permits.  Jennifer is an essential member of the Cramer Consulting Group team.

Nicholas Yuschak, Jr, ASLA graduated from S.U.N.Y College of Environmental Science & Forestry at Syracuse with a BS in Environmental Studies in 1976 and a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture – Magna Cum Laude in 1977.  As a student he was a recipient of the American Society of Landscape Architect’s Certificate of Honor.

Prior to his association with the Cramer Consulting Group Mr. Yuschak had over 30 years of with the firm of Environmental Design Associates, PC (EDA) in Wilton, CT.  While a Senior Associate at EDA, he worked as Project Manager on all types and phases of project development, ranging from upscale Single and Multi-Family Residential Design to Commercial Design and has served as a past Member At Large for the Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects.  Wilton Corporate Park, his most recent project before leaving EDA, is a newly completed LEED Certified Office Complex and open space area that lies within 1000’ of the Norwalk River.  Development of this site required removal of contaminated landfill and extensive remediation prior to site development.

For the last several years Mr. Yuschak has been an independent Landscape Architectural Consultant to the firms of Blades & Goven, LLC in Fairfield, CT and IQ Landscape Architects in Katonah, NY.  He is currently proficient in AutoCAD version 2013.  While with IQ Landscape Architects he was responsible for preparing final Construction and Bid Documents for the Palmer Avenue Streetscape Improvements in the Village of Larchmont, NY.  Mr. Yuschak resides in Bethel, CT with his wife Daria and his son Mark.

Kenneth Weiner started in the environmental industry in 1993 as an Environmental Planner for Cramer, Voorhis & Associates, Inc.  Ken received a Bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at New Paltz and studied Environmental & Waste Management, Hydrogeology, and Environmental Law at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.  Ken uses his diverse education and his experiences as a Legal Aide for the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation and Legislative Aide for the NYS Assembly to conduct environmental research with an eye on balancing the needs of the client with the requirements of the law.  Some of the types of projects Ken has handled include Environmental Site Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements, noise monitoring & impact surveys, and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans – Self-Certifying Conditional Releases. 

Cynthia Cramer, married to the principal of this firm, Thomas Cramer, has been engaged in a career as a bookkeeper/secretary/office manager throughout her life; she started at the age of 14 with her first summer job where she was taught payroll and basic bookkeeping.  Cynthia attended Ithaca College where she majored in accounting, then further refined her office skills at a technical school in South Carolina.  She has been working with her husband in this capacity since the early 1990s.
